  1. Earth Day Teen Recycled Fashion Show: Registration Required

    April 22, 2021, 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM @ This is a virtual event and will be available to view the day of with access to a link provided after registration.

    In celebration of Earth Day, the YA Department is hosting a Virtual Fashion Show for teens 12-18 years old. Show off your fashion expertise and explore your uniquely creative side using materials and recyclables that can be salvaged for a whole new fashion creation. To make this virtual show more interesting, the participants will also be asked to create their "environment" as part of their overall creation. This is a judged fashion show with prizes awarded to our top three participants. What if you just want to see the show? No problem, separate registration will be available at the beginning of April. To participate, you must fill out the registration. We will contact you with further details and rules. You can also go to PVLIB.NET/TEENS for more details. Some supplies are provided for pick-up in the YA Department on March 15th.

This is not an in-person presentation - you watch it from the convenience of your own home. Come learn the dances that area part of the largest movie making capital in the world – INDIA. India makes 3x as many films than Hollywood. Bollywood is the Hindi-language sector of the Indian movie making industry. Traditionally, Bollywood dancing has been heavily influenced by Asian cultures, Hindu art, music and culture. Today Bollywood music and dancing is also influenced by other cultures and forms of dance including salsa and hip hop. Contemporary Bollywood music is known for collaborations with well known musicians from around the world. Come join us for a fun class where we will dance to Bollywood hits songs from different eras and learn about the inspiration behind the songs.
