Drop-In Tech Help
Need help with your computer, tablet, phone or other technology? Prescott Valley Public Library can assist you!
PVPL provides Windows 10 laptops, but please bring any device that you need assistance with —tablet, e-reader, laptop, phone, etc.—and our experienced staff will do their best to answer your questions. Please bring USB and/or power cables for your device. Apple device users may need their Apple account credentials. Kindle device users may need their Amazon account credentials. Help with e-books requires a valid library card. People will be helped on a first come, first served basis.
Drop-In Tech Help is intended to help with learning new skills, not repairing equipment.
Drop-In Tech Help sessions are held each Tuesday afternoon, from 3-5pm and Friday morning, from 10am-12pm in the 2nd Floor PC Lab. For more information call 928.759.3040.

Prescott Valley Public Library will offer Chair Yoga on the fourth Friday of each month. Lori Wallach has been teaching yoga for over 14 years. Her love of helping individuals ease into aging is the driving force behind her yoga. She received her 200 teacher training in 2004 and her 300 training finished in 2016. Throughout her career she has taught all kinds of yoga, from power yoga to meditation. Now, she has settled into teaching modified yoga that meets the needs of the individual and chair yoga. Chair yoga allows you to keep doing yoga regardless of your ability. The chair can also be used as a prop to help getting into the poses a little easier. Not to mention there is no getting up and down from the floor worry. Yoga will help you keep and build your strength, flexibility and balance. No signed up required

Ready to take that first step and learn about computers? This course will introduce the new user to computers, beginning with the components that make up a computer system and how to use a mouse and keyboard. This course also covers basic Windows 7 skills including starting programs and working with the desktop and windows.

Starting Sunday November 18th, 2018 the Prescott Valley Public Library will begin a pilot project of opening on Sundays from 1-5pm. The pilot will run until the end of April 2019. The library will collect data and input from the community to see if opening on Sundays is beneficial to the community. In order to adjust for opening on Sundays, the library will close an hour earlier Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m.

Join PVPL (7401 East Skoog Blvd, Prescott Valley) & Alzheimer’s Association for the Alzheimer’s Support Group – every Monday beginning January 7th, 2019 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm in the Genealogy Room.
Are you caring for someone with memory problems? Would you like to share your stories with others? Would you like to connect with others who understand?

“Crochet One, Knit Too!” PVPL Ongoing Program: Prescott Valley Public Library’s informal group of folks who enjoy the art of crochet, knitting, and any other portable needle craft. Prescott Valley Public Library will now host an official Girls Who Code group for students in grades 3-5. No prior skills or knowledge necessary. Just show up to our first meeting January 28th with a working email.
Children under 10 must have an adult accompany them in the Library.

Beginning in January, the Prescott Valley Public Library (7401 E. Skoog Blvd.) will host free civics classes for those applying for U.S. citizenship. Starting on January 22nd the class will meet every Tuesday from 5:30-7:00 PM in the library’s 2nd floor PC Lab. Classes will end in 10 weeks on March 26th. Registration is required. Introducing Some Literary Elements through Music
Prescott Valley Public Library (7401 East Skoog Blvd, Prescott Valley, AZ) is offering four sessions for ‘Introducing Some Literary Elements through Music’. These sessions will be held on Wednesdays –March 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th, 2019, from 9:30 am – 11:00 am. Literary elements and terminology are the vocabulary of literary analysis, and fluency with them is crucial to enter any conversation about literature. Learn some literary elements illustrated by popular music lyrics (short-stories).
