What is the Prescott Valley Citizen’s Academy?
The Prescott Valley Citizen’s Academy is a program that provides citizens with an in-depth look at municipal government. The academy will meet weekly on Tuesday nights from 5:45 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. from Jan 5th until Mar 9th, 2010. Each of the academy's ten interactive sessions will be led by representatives from 11 Town departments and 5 public agencies. The Prescott Valley Citizen’s Academy provides a unique opportunity for citizens, city staff, and elected officials to interact.
What is the cost of participation?
There is no fee to participate in the Prescott Valley Citizen’s Academy, but it does present a substantial time commitment for participants. Participants are strongly urged to attend all ten sessions.
What is expected of participants?
In addition to attending the Prescott Valley Citizen’s Academy sessions, participants are asked to attend one town council or board/commission meeting between Jan 5th until Mar 9th. Dinner will be provided during each Citizen’s Academy session, so participants need only bring their enthusiasm and questions.
