Community sponsors help to make second Police Youth Academy possible

2nd pd youth academy

On July 12th, 2019, The Prescott Valley Police Department recognized local teens for their completion of our Youth Citizen’s Academy, “A Peek behind the Curtain.”

These kids had quite the week!  They became state certified in first aid; they had classes in cyberbullying, leadership, online safety and the reality of human trafficking.  They were able to experience life from the view of police officers engaged in “shoot or don’t shoot” scenarios and make those decisions in a safe, learning environment.  We added a state of the art  impairment education program.

All of this was made possible by the generous support and donations of our local businesses and community.  Huge thanks to Affinity RV, Prescott Brewing Company, Ace Hardware, KC Auto Repair, Russell Dalton Dentistry, MI Doors, Legendary Family Healthcare, MJ Consulting, In the Game, Madshirtz, New Life CPR and to many private citizens who donated drinks and snacks.

Our friends at Backburner Restaurant, Jen’s 7th Avenue Café, Chick-fil-A, Firehouse Subs and Streets of New York provided daily lunches.  The teens did not go hungry!  Please visit these businesses and thank them for their support and for their commitment to building a better community for our upcoming leaders. When we work together, we accomplish great things!
