Professional, amateur, it doesn't matter what your skill level is or the type of equipment you have... we can all learn from each other and have fun doing what we enjoy! Our assignment for October is “Monsoon / Clouds /Storms/Weather “ Be alert to changing weather situations...get up early, check the weather forecast, stop along the highway to capture that weird cloud formation or sudden rainbow.  Upload up to 3 photos on the meet-up website and we will review in the October meeting. ?SPEAKER: Gary Gromer will be  doing a short presentation on focus stacking landscape photos.  Gary will show some examples, explain how to do it and how to process it in Photoshop or Helicon Focus.

    In May, the library was awarded funds for two grants from the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The digital literacy training grant will allow Prescott Valley Library to offer a wide variety of computer and technology classes. The first 4 week class session is “Introduction to the Internet,” and will be held every Tuesday in October from 10am to 11:30am in PVPL’s PC Lab.

Knowledgeable Prescott Astronomy Club members will have available their personal telescopes, a Club telescope, or binoculars for the public to view interesting objects in the night sky. Starry Nights is sponsored by the Prescott Astronomy Club in cooperation with the Prescott Valley Department of Parks & Recreation, the Prescott Department of Parks & Recreation and the Highlands Center for Natural History. At this event you will be able to see Mars, Andromeda Galaxy, Ring Nebula, Dumbbell Nebula and double stars.
