The customer's responsibility for water and pipes begins at the meter. Many problems reported are plumbing problems, not water emergencies, and should be addressed by a plumber.
The following are examples of water/sewer emergencies:
You see a lot of flowing water where there normally is none.
If water is flowing and collecting where it shouldn't be, notify your service area maintenance contractor, OMI, by calling 928-759-9062 during the day or after hours. Before calling, try to determine where the water is coming from so you can let OMI know the details of the problem.
You have no water coming into your house.
Check your water shut-off valve to determine if the water is turned off. If you have no water coming into any part of your house, please call OMI at the number above. OMI can determine what the cause is, or inform you of a water shutdown affecting your area.
Water is coming out of a manhole.
This is a sewer emergency. OMI handles sewer for the Town of Prescott Valley. You can reach them at 928-759-9062 during the day or after hours.
Sewage is backing up into your bathtub or shower.
This may be a sewer emergency. OMI also handles sewer for the Town of Prescott Valley. Please call 928-759-9062 for this emergency. OMI will respond and determine if a sewer main is blocked or if it is your service lateral line.
