Water Resources

The Water Resources Division seeks to expand and diversify water resources to ensure the Town's ability to manage its growth and obtain safe yield in cooperation with other entities within the Prescott Active Management Area.

John Munderloh, the Water Resources Manager (email), develops additional water resources in Prescott Valley, identifies additional opportunities and prepares documents to allow participation in other long-term water projects, and supports legislative efforts for sustainable water sources for northern Arizona by working with the Northern Arizona Municipal Water Users Association (NAMWUA), the Groundwater Users's Advisory Committee GUAC (PDF), the Yavapai County Water Advisory Committee (WAC), and the Upper Verde River Watershed Protection Coalition (UVRPWC). The Manager also seeks to promote awareness of water issues and the long-term stability of existing water resources with area residents.

John has 25 plus years of professional experience working on water-related issues including state and local governments, mining, municipal, irrigation, and power utilities in Arizona and other western states.  In these various capacities, John has participated in numerous water rights issues, capital project design & development, and developed hydrologic analyses and water portfolios.   John is an Agricultural Engineer and an Arizona native from Skull Valley, Arizona.
