Code Enforcement

The Town Codes are adopted to promote the public health, safety, comfort, and welfare of the town, to conserve and protect land and building values, and to preserve the aesthetic beauty of the community.

Enforcement Process
Code enforcement officers routinely check all areas of Prescott Valley for code violations. When a code violation is noted or a report of a code violation is made to Community Development (928-759-3050) the alleged violation is inspected within 3 days. Within 1 week a letter is sent requesting correction of the code violation with 2 weeks to comply. If there is no response to the 1st letter, a 2nd letter is sent via certified mail. If correction is not made within 2 weeks, the violator will be summoned to appear before an administrative hearing officer. Individuals refusing to comply with Town Code are subject to fines, abatement and jail.
